Blue Wave Cocktail Recipe

The midterms are coming up (I already early voted yesterday), so I decided to create a drink just for them - the Blue Wave. This blue tequila-based drink is perfect for celebrating (hopefully) the Blue Wave and will satisfy any thirsty "mob."

Ingredients:

• 2 oz tequila
• 1 1/2 oz grapefruit juice
• 1 oz lime juice
• 1 oz lemon juice
• 1/2 oz orgeat
• 1/2 oz blue curaçao 
• 1 cup crushed ice  

Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.

Pour into a tiki mug (or any blue glass) and enjoy!

Bruja's Brew Cocktail

Today I've got another Halloween-inspired cocktail I created - the tequila-based Bruja's Brew.  And while the ingredients don't include eye of newt or toe of frog, the drink has a complex taste - at once peppery, herbal and tart.

Ingredients:

• 2 oz tequila
• 2 oz blood orange juice (can substitute regular orange juice)
• 1 oz lime juice
• 1/2 oz creme de cassis
• 1/4 oz chartreuse
• 1 cup crushed ice

Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.

Serve in a tiki mug or glass of your choice, and enjoy this potion!
